The man was not conflicted no more;
The man was not conflicted no more;
he prepared himself to leave it all behind.
The ancient era would have turned him in to one R. Crusoe.
He packed himself a backpack filled with essentials;
Just like the olden times; the bag contained
Jack knife, Swiss knife, first aid and clothing.
Also, some dry food and a water bottle.
He hummed "all my bags are packed and I'm ready to go"
He paused and thought again.
But this is the digital era!
Even a peaceful exile can't run on analog
A kindle for reading books;
And a smartphone with ample data that doesn't expire.
Least he should perspire,
he brought along colognes and deodorants;
a shaving kit, comb and such essentials.
At the very last moment,
he didn't forget to buy that spotify premium.
Oh yes, and a laptop with a big battery.
A Netflix connection to go along.
As he was changing his 4G SIM to a 5G one,
in order to avail the bigger, better and faster internet
He really, really realized
It's better to watch 4K videos of the sea
On YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and prime.
And yes, it is a crime
To even dream of growing a pair....of wings
and to try and fly away.
From this Venus fly trap of a life.
Undoubtedly people hate Guantanamo bay
But they stay; wherever the hell they are.
Just to decay,
and to become earthen microbial food.
