Locked down brain
Sometimes the brain is in lockdown!
For a moment, everything freezes,
and nothing seems to register in the mind.
For a fleeting moment;
everything stops, ceases and slows down.
It gives us a vision that can dissect and capture;
the captivating, and yet, dying moments of a falling leaf.
Oh, how it twirls, sways, floats, and eventually, kisses the earth.
And just like many other glorious falls,
the kissing leaf meets its ultimate destiny,
and becomes a part of mother earth.
We often forget that it had a green existence,
and it managed to fulfill its dying wish.
Instead, we obsess over its seemingly meaningless existence;
quizzical fall from grace, and eventual perish.
